#85 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / My History

These videos say it all, this is what I saw as a child of the 60's.

1968 I was going on 6 when this went on , I remember singing the song "Heaven Help us all" with Stevie Wonder on TV feeling ashamed I was White !

I will add more tomorrow , this brought too many sad memories back and I really don't see the world getting much better without the Hope of Peace.
Thanks for stopping in , peace and blessings to you all.

#86 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / Homeland Terrorism

I woke up this morning planning on posting the next thing I had ready for my "Reasons I blog4peace" ....? I thought I would check the local news first to see what was going on ?
"Sanford,NC man charged with murder" he was 25, took the life of a woman 46.No said reason?

Fuquay-Varina,NC 15 year old girl was stabbed 30 times.2 men 19 and 20. reason ...argument???

Elderly Spring Lake woman beaten, robbed in backyard

Elderly Spring Lake woman beaten, robbed in backyard

Well that is about as much Home Terrorism as I need to see this morning ...I want to cry or Scream.

Then I thought , Okay maybe I will go look for inspiration from my fellow "Peace Bloggers "

1st thing I see Teenage boys brutally hunt down a 49 year old man and kill him for No reason but the color of his skin. All caught on video .This is sick
2nd was a blogger saying "there ain't no peace" at1/08/06/peace-peace-there-is-no-peace/

3rd I saw a video of Bob Marley a fellow blogger posted , It was the "Try Me" video but the blogger said when he heard this He sang "Try Peace"
yea that is what I need ... a Marley fix !

What ever happened to Peace on Earth?

Okay let me find a song that will make me feel better.... and hopefully You too.
I am now going to go to the garden and find some Peace there .
Thanks for stopping by , Peace and Blessings to you all.

#87 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / 1960-70's music

Music has always been a big part of me . For me silence has never been golden. I even have a variety of wind-chimes in my garden .
The songs I have found were as familiar to me as a child growing up as the sponge bob song is to kids now !
This one was wrote by Bob Dylan the year I was born...

These are some of the first protest sounds I remember plus the Smothers Brothers on my last blog . They were so smooth.
I still remember sitting on the floor watching that one!

My sweetheart said, " He painted his whole bedroom black after hearing this song below and freaked his Dad out"

Then there was Cat Stevens
I loved and still love  his music ...

Well I think you see what I mean , I hope you liked some of my Flashbacks . It was all around me.
Tomorrow I will show some videos of some of the history I lived . Maybe even find that Hippy picture of my Mom :>)
Thanks for stopping.
Peace and Blessings to You all .

#88 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace /Born in the 1960's

Born in the 1960's , How could I not Blog4Peace

this shows the generation I grew up in...

I had Heroes like these

Searching for another hero's early music I found this ... I am sure thankful Cat Stevens found better things to sing about than this one from 1963 .

More on the things of the 60's that inspired me to be me  tomorrow...
Till then ... Peace and Blessings to You all.

#89 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / Because I Can

We may b@#^h and complain about our freedoms here in the USA , but WE ARE FREE compared to the biggest part of this world. Free to do what we want good or bad.

Free to blog what we think  ... for this I blog .
I am not a writer but that does not stop me . I blog what I feel, what I see and read.
I can always share others blogs too . So that is what I am doing today .
Today I am going to send you to a friend's blog , that has made Peace colorful !  She made a cool picture with pressed flowers and leaves called "Connect with Peace" go see it !!!

As always ... Peace and blessings to You all

#90 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / To see it happen

I blog for Peace to see it happen . As long as we believe ...
It can be .

Hope for tomorrow

Philippines President Meets with Muslim Rebel Leader

Government negotiators say the two hour meeting in a Tokyo suburb was cordial and both sides agreed on need to fast-track peace negotiations
For more than three decades, Muslim rebel groups in the southern Philippines have been fighting the government.  More than 120,000 people have died as a result and more than a million people have been displaced.  The MILF is the largest rebel group with more than 10,000 members.

Over the years, talks have broken down repeatedly between the government and the rebels.  The Aquino administration has signaled its intent to forge peace in the resource-rich region in an effort to attract more foreign investment to the country.
The next meeting between negotiators will be in two weeks.

I do not claim to know what all this stuff is about. I am trying to learn ,slowly .
I know Death is real and with these fights it is the Poor and Innocent that tend to suffer most.... Often generations of a family being wiped out.

I enjoyed this video and hope You do too.
This was with the video ....
World Peace is Possible. This is the name of a foundation which aims to realize world peace, a world without war. The underlying idea is that by making the thought "World Peace is Possible" become known everywhere, world peace actually does become a reality.

#92 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / Roses for Norway

I blog4peace... that these awful things will stop . That Hatred would be overpowered by Love .

Roses for Norway

MOURNERS in the heartbroken city of Oslo carry flowers to remember their dead

Posted by Picasa
I love to get snailmail so I am a member at , here You can meet all kinds of people that like to swap art, crafts , email , postcards ... You name it . Well with blogging ,gardening ,pressing and de-pressing I have had little time for playing with my flowers lately . So I decided to see if there was an easy swap to get into , to make me create something ??.
Well I found it and it has a cause that fits right in with my 100 Reasons I Blog4peace !

A Rose For Norway ATC swap

Every major city here in Norway is covered with roses today, after the rose parades held last night, to show respect, support and love to everyone who has been touched by this enormous tragedy in our very small country which took place July 22nd 2011.
This inspired me to make a Rose ATC, which again inspired me to create this swap. Make a pretty ATC with a rose, or several roses on it, and send it to your partner. One partner - One ATC.
Measures are as always 2.5" x 3.5", use sturdy cardstock and please make something You are proud to send out!
Newbees welcome! Flakers not welcome!
EDIT: This comment posted at the swap made me think a little:
It is heartbreaking to hear every day about what your country is dealing with. I would love to send you another 1 or 2 Rose ATCs to give to someone there who would be cheered up by it. Would you mind posting your address in the swap so we can send you extras?

If anyone wants to make an extra ATC or two, please feel free to send them directly to me: My name is RENATE HARLIGEN Street adress: KAPELLVEIEN 53 Zip : N-1555 Town : SON Country : NORWAY
It would be AMAZING if we could get one card for each victim, which will be passed on. Please tell your swap-friends and spread the word! Thank you!!!!!

comments made at the swap
You know, change in the world begins one person at a time..It begins with me and how I treat people.Thank you Renate, for allowing us to do something! At times like these we feel helpless, but a kind heart and hand goes a long way. Blessing and prayers to all of you in Norway. Smiles, Fairyduster53
I will make an extra ATC for you AND I started another project to get a slide-show of roses for the victims. You can read it here: please scan your ATC's and post them in the flickr group (you can read in the post) so I can make an awesome slide-show with artistic roses for Norway to post on YouTube!

 From "Renate" the swap coordinator
I will not personally get in touch will all the families one by one, but I have been in contact with the Prime Minister office, who by the way is SO moved by all your support. Once they receive the cards they will distribute the cards to all their local offices in the different counties and districts, who again will distribute them to the families who lost someone in the attack. On a personal note, I just want to say it moves me to tears to see the overwhelming support you are giving here! Thank you SO very very much!!!! :o) :o) :o)
I've been crying for 8 days, crying for all the wonderful children who was ripped away from us, crying for all the families who lost their loved ones, I've even cried for the lost soul of the man who in his insanity did this. Now I am crying because I am so touched by all you generous swappers here at swap-bot. Thank you SO VERY much to you all! :o) :o) :o)

Okay  after reading all this and visiting Bluebird's blog "Touch of Beauty."  She is opening a group up on Flickr to show Your roses ! A rose for Norway

About A rose for Norway

I joined an ATC swap on swap-bot where you have to create a 'rose for Norway' ATC.

If you are also an artist or a teacher and you make your own rose or let your students create a rose for Norway you can upload the pictures here. I will put them in a slideshow later to post on YouTube.

It doesn't have to be an ATC! It can be a zentangle, a doodle, a painting, a drawing, ... but it has to be a rose for Norway.

I really hope you will all join in and spread the word so those who can't bring a real rose to Norway can send a artistic, virtual one.

Every medium is accepted although I would like to keep it hand-made roses only, no pictures of a rose please.

I was so moved, I had to blog about it ... got permission from "Renate" the swap coordinator and  here it is.
I am sending a link to this blog to her and also Bluebird . I am hoping Bluebird will see my picture here and except it for her Flickr page ... She did say No Real Rose pictures .... even though this is definitely Not a snapshot .
so this is my Rose to Norway .
My heart goes out to them all and hope they can find Peace in their hearts to go on.
Peace and Blessings to You all.

update on Aug 15th
they are showing some of the cards that have been made here .

#93 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / taking action

I try to keep my political opinions to myself a lot .
I learned at an early age 2 subjects to avoid talking about in mixed company ... Politics and Religions
But this is something I want to push and sending out 20 emails did not seem to be enough.

You may ask "How does this come under the topic of Peace ? "
Knowing that Social Security is not in jeopardy would give a great bit of 'Peace of mind' to a lot of people !
I was 17 when I told my Gram that I knew I would never see my SS but would never complain about paying it knowing it may help Her and others I loved.

I was in my thirties when I was told I have to be 73 to draw SS... so I am not counting on it still being there then.

But it hurt my heart knowing that there were Seniors Citizens, and others  that were worried this last month that they would not get their checks this month ... For that I am outraged.

Please join with me to spread the word.
copy and paste this below and send it out to everyone , post it on your blog... need me to email it to you just let me know?

This is something I will fight for and  I hope you all read it all the way through.  You will be glad you did.
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified!  Why?  Simple!  The people  demanded it.  That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.
Of  the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the  land...all because of public pressure.
I'm asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list;  in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.  This is one idea that really should be passed around.
Congressional Reform Act of  2011
1.   No Tenure / No  Pension.
A  Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2.   Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately.  All  future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.  It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen.  Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.   Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The  Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the  U.S. ) to receive the message.  Maybe it is time.
If  you agree with the above, pass it on.   If not, just delete.

You are one of my 20+.  Please keep it going.
Peace and Blessings to You all.

To not always believe in everything You hear.  To try to make a difference if you can. To fight for the under-dog . To be a Peace Loving Person. I feel lucky to call her my friend .

I am Grateful for Gardens: the thing that has saved my sanity my whole life ... no matter how bad the world may seem you can always find Peace in a garden , if only for a moment .

I am Grateful for my friend Rebekah Smith that introduced me to the passion of Pressed Flower Art . I have always loved to do mixed media art & Upcycled art too .  She also brought me to WWPFG which I am truly grateful for .
This is the first picture I made through a class at WWPFG.
The Pride's Sunset
