#47 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace/Unite Peace Builders

When I was young I one of the songs I loved to hear was ,
 " It a small world after all . "

Often the internet makes us feel like it is too .
Until You try to find one person that will take a stand for Peace in each country?
What a goal . Tonight the workers bees were asked a big challenge ... to try to help Unite Peace Builders around the world to post a PEACE  GLOBE on Nov 4th 2011 from  http://blogblastforpeace.com/    .
Here is her request .
Do you know people who Facebook or blog or Tweet from these countries? Can we invite them to fly a peace globe? Would you do that?

There are 196 countries in the world. Currently, 55 countries have flown peace globes, roughly 1/4 of the earth's surface.
Is it unreasonable to expect that we could actually cover the globe with them?

No. It is not. In fact, I EXPECT us to do it. I always have. We're just one step closer.

We need at least one representative from each country. I know we can do it. Let's go!

My Challenge to my readers ...
Find me a person from any of these countries that will post a globe and I will send you a 10 packet of pressed flowers/leaves for crafting or flower seeds to you for You and your friend !  Find me 10 , send 10!
If you think you want to do it but need help ... just ask ?

So are the any Peace builders out there ?
it is easy just post a globe for peace , she even supplies the template and there are many worker-bees willing to help with that if you need it!
Okay these are the countries we need someone posting a Peace Globe on November 4th 2011.
Did you know Oman is the only country in the world that start with 'O' ?
I  am always learning something blogging for peace :>)

#48 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / World Peace

"Metta World Peace" ???
Okay I said I wanted to live long enough to see World Peace .?

If I have trouble thinking of a topic to write about here... I often go to the news section in the search field and type in "Peace" Just to see How Peace is being talked about or if ?
Well I have to say this was a big shocker .To see this headline  was mind blowing. Dreamed of the first part ...confused by the second?

We have World Peace:

Ron Artest gets name change

For full story

World Peace's publicist, Courtney Barnes, said his client had been contemplating the switch for years, "but it took many years of research and soul-searching to find a first name that was both personally meaningful and inspirational." Metta is a Buddhist term that means loving kindness and friendliness toward others.

"Changing my name was meant to inspire and bring youth together all around the world," World Peace said in a statement. "I'm glad that it is now official."

Okay I am going to leave You with an image of "World Peace"
like I never thought of

May Peace and Blessings be upon You !

#49 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / PEACE CONTAGIOUS

Khalil Gibran is one of my favorite authors and artist . I have tried to get every book of his !  I dream of having a piece of his art one day .

If I see a "Prophet" book at the thrift store I get it just to give to someone else !

Close to the Brazilian Embassy is  a tribute to the magnificent Lebanese poet and philosopher Khalil Gibran.
Cast in the marble of the memorial are these words from Gibran :

“I love you, my brother, whoever you are
Whether you worship in your church,
Kneel in your temple, or pray in your mosque.
You and I are all children of one faith,
Fingers of the loving hand of one Supreme Being
A hand extended to all.”

Here are some passages that bring Peace to me.

PEACE CONTAGIOUS by Khalil Gibran

One branch in bloom said to his neighboring branch, "This is a dull and empty day." And the other branch answered, "It is indeed empty and dull."
At that moment a sparrow alighted on one of the branches, and the another sparrow, nearby.
And one of the sparrows chirped and said, "My mate has left me."
And the other sparrow cried, "My mate has also gone, and she will not return. And what care I?"

Then the two birds began to twitter and scold, and soon they were fighting and making harsh noise upon the air. All of a sudden two other sparrows came sailing from the sky, and they sat quietly beside the restless two. And there was calm, and there was peace.

Then the four flew away together in pairs.

And the first branch said to his neighboring branch, "That was a mighty zig-zag of sound."
And the other branch answered, "Call it what you will, it is now both peaceful and spacious. And if the upper air makes peace it seems to me that those who dwell in the lower might make peace also. Will you not wave in the wind a little nearer to me?"
And the first branch said, "Oh, perchance, for peace' sake, ere the Spring is over."
And then he waved himself with the strong wind to embrace her.

“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.”
― Khalil Gibran

“The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose.”
― Khalil Gibran

All of these babies have a part of my heart along with their parents. Some of them are a little older now , some are grown with a baby or more .
They all deserve a more Peace filled life and happiness .
What about your babies ?
Don't You want more Peace for them ?
Tell the world

May Peace and Blessings be upon You all and the babies !

#51 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / for Smiles

I found these sweet quotes at
http://www.coolnsmart.com/smile_quotes/
The pictures are from the internet and some of mine.

A smile confuses an approaching frown.

A smile is a language that even a baby understands.
My newest Grandson

A smile of encouragement at the right moment may act like sunlight on a closed-up flower; it may be the turning point for a struggling life.

A smile takes but a moment, but the memory of it lasts forever.
My Grandson

Some people are too tired to give you a smile, so give them one of yours as no one needs a smile as much as the one who has no more to give.

So many languages in the world, and a smile speaks them all.

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure, but scattered along the life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.

Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.

Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

A spark of kindness starts a fire of love.
Are You smiling yet ?
Are You ready to share one ?

May Peace and Blessings be upon You all !

#53 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace /Tolerance NOT Racism 2

okay I still haven't gotten to my own personal reasons of learning Tolerance from racism and prejudice ways. It brings up to much anger and I don't have time for that negative energy right now . So I will just keep it in draft and keep writing and sharing post of others and their fight for peace .
How can we hold our heads up with pride of being a free country and not give the Same freedom to all?

This statement below is from a story I read at the link below. Please go read it all .

Commentary: 9/11 first day on a new calendar for Muslim activist

Sept. 11, 2001, became the first day of a new calendar: two wars, the passage of the Patriot Act, new terror threats followed by Homeland Security alerts, rampant profiling, and FBI counterterrorism investigations. The result: American Muslims viewed as a suspect community -- their constitutional rights violated with impunity.

As some labeled Islam an evil and wicked religion, others stood shoulder to shoulder with their Muslim neighbors against such bigotry.
Still, Muslims cannot afford to retreat into their shells, as we now see an onslaught from Islamophobic bloggers, our constitutional rights challenged more as some politicians use wedge issues like the myth of "creeping sharia" in this election year.
I advise the next generation of Muslim Americans to continue to work for a better America and a peaceful world, shunning radical influences in the face of serious challenges. It's a task no minority can accomplish alone, so we must seek the cooperation and goodwill of all Americans.

Patriot Act Used for Drugs, not Terrorism

The Patriot Act authorized ‘sneak and peek’ search warrants — where you, the suspect, don’t have to be notified of the search until after the fact. If you’re a patriot and thought those powers would be used to fight terrorism, well you would be wrong. Meanwhile, the National Security Agency (NSA) has opened a massive $2 billion, 1 million-square-foot complex in the Utah desert…devoted to storing and sorting through emails, web searches and business transactions. Perhaps yours.
A similar complex is being built near San Antonio. By 2015, according to journalist James Bamford, the NSA will store data equivalent to 1 septillion printed pages. That’s a 1 followed by 24 zeroes.
“Somewhere between Sept. 11 and today,” wrote Bamford last week, “the enemy morphed from a handful of terrorists to the American population at large, leaving us nowhere to run and no place to hide…”

#54 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace / Born This Way

I Love nature . I even like a lot of things some would call a weed.

From Movies

Sometimes it can be color or shape ?

"What is a weed? A weed is a plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered." -- Emerson

Wouldn't it be a boring world if all the flowers looked the same or the butterflies ?

From 2010 Sept Pipeline flowers

From 2010 Sept Pipeline flowers

As the trees and the flowers , as the animals that roam the earth .
We are born the way nature intended us to be . Even if it may not be what catches Your eye does not make it bad .

We were born this way ! We were Made this way . Sometimes it is a simple thing that can makes us Different from the rest .
From Peace Bed and other peace pictures 2011

We need to be at Peace with who we are !
Then we can learn to respect others for who they are .
Maybe then we can have Peace .

May Peace and Blessings be upon You all .

#55 /100 Reasons I Blog4Peace /Remembering 9/11/2011

I can remember what I was doing on this day! I was outside the K-5 school I worked for as a custodian . I remember the Nuclear power plant making an unfamiliar and unscheduled blast on the warning siren ! I went to tell the man I worked with and we went to see if we  could find anything on the TV in the library on the news. We turned it on just as the plane hit the second tower.
As I said We were custodians , That is the Care takers of the school.
Our school , our 500 and some children we were there to make it a safe environment .
I remember going home that night and wanting to hold my own children that were home a little tighter that night and  worrying about the one I could not hold.
I remember crying more tears than I knew I had for all the lives took and surviving this terrible day .
I remember and 10 years later , I wonder still Why ?
So on this day I pray ...
God bless and open the minds of every person that has been touched by that day and for the next 10 years let them find Peace in their hearts and help bring this world to peace so no person anywhere no matter their skin color , beliefs and country has to feel the grief of loosing their children ,family and friends .
May Peace and Blessings be upon You all.
